Our policy

Storywright, operated by Altiplano Labs LLC, respects the intellectual property of others and expects its users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we will remove or disable access to material we determine, in good faith, to be infringing.

Filing a takedown notice

To be effective, a notice must be in writing and include:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it.
4. Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Counter-notification

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the agent above. It must include your signature, identification of the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district in which Altiplano Labs LLC may be found).

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, Storywright will disable or terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers.

A note on false claims

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages. If you are unsure whether material infringes your copyright, consider seeking legal advice before filing a notice.
